Day 1: Arrive Sydney

Transfer from Sydney Airport to our award-winning accommodation at the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park located in the city’s vibrant shopping and business precincts. A special welcome dinner this evening will be hosted by your Journey Director. This evening immerse yourself in the atmosphere as the sun sets over Sydney’s spectacular skyline, a magnificent backdrop as dusk falls. La Traviata by Verdi is based on La Dame aux Camélias, a play adapted from the novel by Alexandre Dumas.

The title La Traviata translates to ‘The Woman Who Goes Astray’. A ravishing visual spectacle accompanys Verdi’s score which offers flying melodies, rousing drinking songs and heartbreaking duets. This amazing opera is set on a floating, mirrored stage and involves a fireworks display and a breathtaking 9 metre high chandelier with 10,000 Swarovski crystals, all enjoyed from your platinum seating. A project of such scale gives new meaning to the lavish finery and decadence audiences have come to expect of La Traviata. Afterwards, transfer back to your hotel.
