Making her global debut in the role, musical theatre and international recording superstar, Sarah Brightman, will star as Norma Desmond in what marks her first theatrical role in more than three decades.
This delightful Sojourn also includes an exploration of the World Heritage Blue Mountains region. Known for its dramatic scenery, it encompasses steep cliffs, eucalyptus forests and waterfalls. Transfer from Sydney Airport to the award-winning Four Seasons Hotel Sydney, the perfect base for our upcoming touring. Enjoy the many facilities of this exceptional hotel and take advantage of it’s incredible location as it places you among the city’s vibrant shopping and business precincts, and next to the popular historic Rocks district and harbour side Circular Quay. The Welcome Dinner this evening will be hosted by your Journey Director.

Following breakfast, transfer to the iconic Opera House where we will go beneath the sails and discover what makes this incredible structure so inspiring. We will explore this iconic Australian landmark, marvel at its vaulted ceilings and discover the legendary history and extraordinary secrets it holds. Take a private water taxi to Balmain enjoying the spectacular harbour views that abound as we cruise. Upon arrival, we take a walking tour of this vibrant and charming suburb and learn about its fascinating history before enjoying lunch at the acclaimed harbourside Fenwick Restaurant and Gallery.
Transfer this evening to the Opera House for Sunset Boulevard. This spectacular new staging features stunning sets and costumes, evoking the glamorous Golden Age of Hollywood. The thrillingly atmospheric score features the hits ‘With One Look’, ‘The Perfect Year’, and the anthemic ‘As If We Never Said Goodbye’. Sarah Brightman, the world’s best-selling soprano with more than 180 gold and platinum awards in over 40 countries will star as Norma Desmond in a magnificent tale of faded glory and unfulfilled ambition.

Departing Sydney we drive to the Blue Mountain’s town of Faulconbridge to visit the Norman Lindsay Gallery and Museum, a heritage-listed former residence and farmlet of the illustrious artist. We will view the controversial Lindsay’s works and landscaped Roman-style gardens.
At the Wintergarden Restaurant, we indulge in the grand tradition of high tea with panoramic views over the Megalong Valley. Next we explore the World Heritage – listed Blue Mountains at Scenic World, where we will enjoy a nature-based experience like no other. From the Scenic Railway and Scenic Cableway we will enjoy epic panoramas of wilderness, waterfalls and stunning sandstone escarpments. We check into our luxury accommodation Lilianfels, which beautifully reflects the romance of a bygone era offering awe-inspiring scenery and manicured gardens.

Oberon is our first stop today to visit the spectacular Mayfield Gardens in spring splendour, where we will enjoy an exclusive guided tour through the family’s private gardens. Next is Katoomba to view the iconic Three Sisters at Echo Point, a sandstone formation representing ‘three sisters’ in Aboriginal legend. An exceptional Farewell Dinner this evening as we dine at multi award-winning Darley’s Restaurant at Lilianfels boasting views across the historic formal English gardens with the escarpment of Jamison Valley in the background.
Overnight: Lilianfels Blue Mountains
After a leisurely breakfast, we transfer to Sydney airport. Saying a fond farewell to new friends, we take away memories of a delightful Springtime Sojourn.

Level of Fitness Required – Easy Going
These journeys are not physically demanding unless you want them to be. They include easy guided walks, which are mainly on flat ground. There will be times when you are required to board a launch for shore excursions. You must be able to walk up to 500 metres unaided and will not need any foreseen assistance throughout the journey. For all clients to fully enjoy this travel experience, excellent health and mobility is required by all.
