Darwin - Kununurra

After breakfast this morning you will be transferred to Darwin airport for your commercial flight to Kununurra.
Upon arrival at Kununurra, you will be met at the airport by your private guide/driver. You will then visit the historic Argyle Homestead, home of the famous pioneering family, the Duracks. The story of the Durack’s great cattle drive through unmapped terrain to settle in this area is told in Mary Durack’s well known book, Kings in Grass Castles. The hardships experienced and the endurance of this family is a remarkable part of Australian history.

You will then embark on a boat ride up the Ord River, through the inspiring scenery of the Kimberley region. The cruise continues to the impressive Dam wall, which holds back the waters of Lake Argyle, capable of holding 44 times the volume of water of Sydney Harbour. You will learn about local industries and the fascinating irrigation systems of this area.

At the conclusion of this tour you will be transferred to the Kimberley Grand Hotel for check-in. Dinner tonight is at leisure.

This scenic two hour aircruise will have you fly over Purnululu National Park before landing at the El Questro Station strip where you are then transferred via 4WD to your luxury accommodation.

El Questro Wilderness Park extends for approximately 80 km north-south and 60 km east-west, totalling one million acres in size. Its landscape offers outstanding diversity - from rugged sandstone ranges and broad tidal flats, to rainforest pockets, gorges and permanent waterfalls. At the heart of El Questro Wilderness Park lies The Homestead. El Questro – Berkeley River Lodge

After a sumptuous breakfast, your private aircraft is waiting to transport you to Berkeley River Lodge. Departing El Questro the flight is to the northwest where the Cockburn range comes into view. This spectacular range is very unique with its vertical cliff running the whole way around the range. We then cross the Pentecost River, home to many Salt water crocodiles. The flight takes in the Cambridge Gulf, used by ships to access the Port of Wyndham. Prior to landing, the Berkeley River and the Kimberley Coastline come into view.

The Berkeley River Lodge is nestled on the gentle curve of Joseph Bonaparte Gulf on Australia’s remote north Kimberley coast. A stone’s throw away from some of the most spectacular untouched coastal wilderness on earth. From your dune top ocean view villa, you’re just a sandy-footed stroll away from pristine wildlife rich bushland and secluded beaches, where the only frequent visitors are dolphins, dugongs and turtles.
