Day 1: Arrive Alice Springs

Transfer from Alice Springs Airport to the Double Tree Hilton, the perfect base for our touring of Alice and her surrounds. Your welcome dinner this evening will be a memorable outback experience as we enjoy an award winning gourmet BBQ with stories ranging from local ecology, culture and astronomy at Earth Sanctuary.

Overnight: Double Tree Hilton

Day 2: Alice Springs

Today we tour the Eastern MacDonnell Ranges which extends for approximately 200 km east of Alice Springs and features spectacular natural formations. We visit Corroboree Rock, an outstanding dolomite column of rock along with Simpsons Gap and the stunning Standley Chasm.

Known as Angkerle to the local Aboriginals, Standley Chasm cuts through the tough quartzite to form a picturesque natural alleyway. Surging flood waters over thousands of years are responsible for this beautiful site. As the light shifts across the cleft, visitors are treated to a magnificent display of colours and forms.

Overnight: Double Tree Hilton

Day 3: Alice Springs - Uluru

After breakfast, we visit the Alice Springs Desert Park where you will immerse yourself in the beauty and mystery of Australia’s deserts. Wander through the ancient landscape, experience the animals of the night and discover the diversity of desert plants. Be inspired by ancient living cultures, gain an awareness of the interconnected life in the desert and marvel at free flying birds.

After lunch, we fly to Uluru for an afternoon at leisure before departing for a feast under the stars at the magnificent ‘Sounds of Silence’ dinner. Wonderfully placed between Uluru and Kata Tjuta, experience the subtle colour changes of ‘The Rock’ at sunset.

Overnight: Sails in the Desert

Day 4: Uluru

This morning we take the opportunity to fully appreciate the unsurpassed splendour of Central Australia from an incredible perspective. Accompanied by expert commentary, marvel as we helicopter above Uluru, Kata Tjuta, Kings Canyon for yet another unforgettable Red Centre experience.

After dinner we depart to view the highlight of this journey, the once in a lifetime art installation, Field of Light. In keeping with the desert’s vast scale, this is Munro’s largest work to date; more than 50,000 slender stems crowned with radiant frosted-glass spheres over an area the size of four football fields; it is the artist’s first work to be illuminated through solar power.
The spheres, connected via optical fibre, will bloom as darkness falls. Pathways created by the artwork will draw viewers into the installation, which will come to life under a sky brilliant with stars.

Overnight: Sails in the Desert

Day 5: Uluru

This morning we travel towards Uluru, its vast shape rising from the sand dunes as the early dawn light shines over this amazing monolith. You will embrace the culture, geology and environment that is Uluru before moving on to Kata Tjuta where you can revel in the serenity of a truly spiritual place. This evening we depart for a dinner unlike any other. Soak in the magic of fine dining under the Southern Desert sky during the ‘Tali Wiru’ experience, an exceptional farewell dinner.

Overnight: Sails in the Desert

Day 6: Depart Uluru

Saying a fond farewell to new friends, this spectacular ‘Red Centre’ journey concludes and you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
