Day 1: Arrive Launceston

Launceston - vibrant hub for food and wine - Luxury Private Air Tour TasmaniaYour journey begins in Launceston where you will be transferred from the airport to Peppers Seaport, which is located in the lively Seaport Precinct in the heart of Launceston. Tonight you will meet your fellow travellers at the Welcome Dinner hosted by the Journey Director.

Day 2: Flinders Island

Flinders Island - breath-taking secenery of Trousers Point - Luxury Private Air Tour TasmaniaBoard our private aircraft this morning for the scenic flight to Flinders Island. Located in the waters of Bass Strait, off the north-eastern tip of Tasmania, Flinders is the largest island in the Furneaux Island Group. This group of more than 50 islands are all that remain of the land bridge which once joined Tasmania to the Australian mainland. We will tour the island and enjoy lunch before re-boarding the aircraft for the return flight to Launceston.

Day 3: Launceston - Freycinet National Park

A local historian will guide us through the homestead and provide some understanding of its nearly 200 year history. As part of the estate you will also have the opportunity to explore the magnificent Rose Garden. We continue our journey to Freycinet, stopping enroute at Campbell Town, known for its Convict Brick Trail. Check-in to our award-winning accommodation overlooking the blue waters of Great Oyster Bay. Freycinet Lodge is magnificently set offering incredible panoramic coastal views in all directions with The Hazards mountain range as your backdrop.

Day 4: Freycinet National Park

Today we take a cruise on Wineglass Bay, renowned as having one of the top ten beaches in the world. Relax on board and enjoy the spectacular surrounds of this remote and stunning part of Tasmania. Explore the rugged coastline with towering pink granite cliffs plunging into the Tasman Sea and discover a coast dotted with sparkling white sand beaches before anchoring at Wineglass Bay. Absorb the peace of this remarkable bay and its magnificent surroundings while enjoying fresh Freycinet oysters, sparkling Spring Vale wine and creamy Ashgrove Farm cheeses.

Day 5: Freycinet National Park - Hobart

Our private aircraft awaits this morning to transport us to Hobart. En-route we fly over the spectacular eastern coastline, Tasman Peninsula and Maria Island. Enjoy lunch at acclaimed Frogmore Creek Winery before taking a historic tour of Hobart.

Day 6: Port Arthur

Day 7: Bruny Island

A spectacular discovery awaits on Bruny Island today where dramatic landscapes are matched by delicious island produce. Explore Bruny’s wilderness, breathtaking coast, heritage and Australia’s southernmost lighthouse. Stunning sights also await at Truganini Lookout, The Neck Wildlife Reserve, South Bruny National Park and Adventure Bay. We learn for ourselves how the island’s local produce is as refreshing as its beaches, cliffs and wildlife as we sample throughout the day cheese, wood-oven bread, seafood, honey and chocolate, all island specialties.

Day 8: Hobart - Strahan

Lying in the heart of Tasmania’s World Heritage wilderness area, it is a region of spectacular gorges and deep river valleys.

Mode of transport

This journey will be operated by a variety of aircraft. All aircraft are perfect for landing in the isolated airstrips throughout this journey. To ensure a variety of viewing for everyone, we change seat allocation each day. The aircraft is operated by an experienced pilot and accompanied by a Journey Director. The coaches that we use for the ground component of this journey are fully air-conditioned. There will also be air-conditioned 4WD vehicles used in some areas.

Level of fitness required: Easy Going 

These journeys are not physically demanding unless you want them to be. They include easy guided walks, which are mainly on flat ground. There will be times when you are required to board a launch for shore excursions. You must be able to walk up to 1 kilometre unaided and will not need any foreseen assistance throughout the journey. For all clients to fully enjoy this travel experience, excellent health and mobility are required by all.

We strongly urge you to consider the fitness rating before selecting your preferred journey, in respect for your fellow travellers. Bill Peach Journeys reserves the right to refuse travel to any client whose fitness level is below the recommended rating.
