Forty percent of our business is Single Travellers and we have built up a reputation of looking after these travellers. The benefits for Single Travellers are:

  • No Single Supplement on selected programmes - meaning a huge cost saving.
  • Your own room guaranteed - no twin sharing with a stranger!
  • On selected journeys single travellers pay one fare with no single supplement. You’ll enjoy the comforts of a private room and the camaraderie of travellers with a common outlook and sense of adventure.
  • There’s no baggage handling to worry about.
  • All inclusive, all meals, touring and accommodation.
  • Private Aircraft throughout.

If you are single or prefer to travel alone, but resent the single supplement, we are excited to introduce a selection of journeys for the single traveller. Please go the Single Traveller section of our website, journeys that do not incur an additional single supplement are denoted by S.

  • Please make sure you take something warm for the Sounds of Silence Dinner (Great Australian Aircruise and Gems of the Kimberley & Pilbara Aircruise)
  • Swimwear
  • For the Captains Dinner - Smart Casual (Dinner jackets are not required)

Please note that temperatures can vary dramatically. It is advisable to bring items of clothing that you can layer when you need to.

What sort of accommodation do you use?

Bill Peach Journeys understands the importance of selecting the right accommodation to complement each journey. Where suitable, this means five star hotels, hand-picked by our journey planners. In places where this is not possible, accommodation has been chosen to ensure you receive the highest standard of service and comfort available in that destination. We have pleasure in presenting a small selection of the hotels you will be staying in on the journeys as featured.

How much luggage can I take?

On all of our Aircruise and Discovery Aircruise journeys all aircraft have restricted cargo holds and hence luggage for each client is restricted to 10kg. Prior to departure of the Aircruise you will be sent a suitcase and cabin bag with our compliments to be used throughout the journey.

How fit do I have to be to travel on an Aircruise?

Our Aircruises are rated Easy, Moderate & Active. We strongly urge you to consider the fitness rating before selecting your preferred journey, in respect for your fellow travellers. Bill Peach Journeys reserves the right to refuse travel to any client whose fitness level is below the recommended rating.

On all of our journeys you must be able to walk unaided and will not need any foreseen assistance throughout the journey. If you require wheelchair or walking frame assistance, then our journeys are not suitable. On each of our itinerary pages there is a rating for each journey.

EASY - These journeys are not physically demanding unless you want them to be. They include easy paced walks which are on mainly flat ground. You must be able to walk up to 500 metres unaided and will not need any foreseen assistance throughout the journey.

MODERATE - These journeys are more challenging and designed for the more active traveller who is looking to venture off the beaten path. To fully participate in all activities, the traveller must be able to walk up to 1 km on even surfaces unaided, travel by four-wheel drive vehicles along ungraded roads and walk up steps unassisted.

ACTIVE - These journeys are specifically for the active traveller. To fully appreciate the regions visited on these programmes, participants will be required to walk up to 2 kms on uneven surfaces unaided, walk up steps and inclines, travel in four-wheel drive vehicles along ungraded roads and board boats from water tenders.

How many crew are onboard?

This varies depending on the size of the aircraft. Onboard there is always at least 1 pilot and 1 journey director and on our larger aircraft there are 2 Pilots, a Flight Director and a Journey Director.

How much do you see from the air?

All aircraft fly at an average of 13,000 feet, which means you can always view the landscape below. Over areas of specific interest from the air our experienced pilots will bring the aircraft down to 1000 feet for a spectacular birds eye views of the area below - regions like Uluru, the Bungle Bungle Range and the Southern Alps of New Zealand.

What aircraft is used in Australia and New Zealand?

This all depends on what journey you a travelling on. The style of aircraft is specifically chosen to provide the best possible access into remote locations and can range from an 8 seat Cessna, 19 seat Beechcraft or Dornier to a 34 seat Dash 8 aircraft. In some remote locations such as the glaciers in Southern New Zealand, clients may be transferred from the larger aircraft into smaller planes. On each of our itinerary pages on this website is a description of the type of aircraft used for each programme.

How long is spent on the aircraft?

On average only 2 hours a day is spent on the aircraft for Australian Aircruises and on average 1 hour 15 minutes in New Zealand. The advantage of private aircraft is that you minimise the travelling time between each destination and maximise the time on the ground to see the highlights and meet the locals.
