Transfer from Melbourne Airport or your home in metropolitan Melbourne to the luxurious Westin Melbourne. Explore this vibrant metropolis this afternoon at leisure from the Westin’s prime location, walking distance to many Melbourne attractions and galleries. Your welcome dinner will be hosted by your Journey Director tonight in the delightful bayside suburb of St Kilda. Enjoy superb views, beautiful mediterranean inspired food and the relaxed beachside atmosphere of Donovan’s restaurant, a perfect place to get to know your fellow travellers.

Overnight: The Westin Melbourne

After breakfast at leisure, we will enjoy a private tour of the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia’s oldest and most distinguished public art museum. The NGV Collection comprises more than 70,000 artworks spanning thousands of years, from the art of ancient civilisations through to the latest in contemporary art, reflecting a multitude of different disciplines, periods, styles and inspirations.

Lunch today will be at Riva, Melbourne’s much loved iconic St Kilda venue. Breathtaking, uninterrupted bay views reach from the Melbourne CBD to Portarlington as you dine on modern Australian favourites made from the freshest, seasonal ingredients.

An afternoon at leisure then an early dinner at the Laneway Club. As we take our seats at Rod Laver Arena, the excitement builds as we anticipate an evening of women’s semi-finals. These matches are sure to be incredible competitions, as some of the game’s greats contest the title and premium seating guarantees you a wonderful view of the action.

Overnight: The Westin Melbourne

Following a leisurely breakfast, celebrate the simple beauty of transportation from days past as we enjoy a horse and carriage ride. Your beautiful and powerful horses will take you on a journey through Melbourne city to see some of the key sights such as St. Patricks Cathedral, Parliament House, China Town, sights from Swan Street Bridge, The Shrine of Remembrance, The Arts Centre and Federation Square precinct.

Keeping with the theme of yesteryear, our lunch today is on board the Colonial Tramcar Restaurant. As you cruise Melbourne’s scenic streets on board the world’s first historic travelling tramcar restaurant, you will enjoy a seasonal four course meal and drinks. Dining in this award winning and unique way is not only a culinary delight, but a trip into a little piece of Victoria’s history. Plush velvet seats and beautiful brass fittings add to the cosy atmosphere where the decor is as inviting as the colonial period these trams reflect.

Afternoon at leisure, dinner at the Laneway Club then more world class athletes compete back at Rod Laver Arena in the Men’s Semi Finals. Who will triumph this year?

About Sojourns

Our Sojourn programmes are short break journeys put together in conjunction with themes, events or experiences. These programmes range from cruising New Zealand’s North Islands to world class sporting events and unique experiences throughout Australia and New Zealand.

About Single Traveller Journeys

We recognise the specific requirements of single travellers and that’s why a number of our journeys are single supplement free, affording you the benefit of your own single room, without any, or with significantly reduced extra cost. In fact over 40% of our guests travel alone, and return to Bill Peach Journeys again and again. In this way you can enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow travellers during the day, along with the safety and security of travelling with an escorted group, but still retire to your own personal room in the evening.  Note: The single supplement free offer cannot be taken in conjunction with any other offer.
